The Dead Sea Valley Tourism Complex
Development Status

The construction of the tourism complex is carried out in vigor by the Dead Sea Preservation Government Company (DSPG) in concert with the Tamar Regional Council. Broad development of public infrastructure, including roads, bicycle trails, beaches and beach facilities, a central promenade, a unique desert park and more – is already underway.

“The Road to a Dream”– Development of Route 90

Some sections along route 90, the access road to the complex from both north and south, were upgrated. The engineering upgrade included repaving and placement of new underground communications, electricity and water infrastructure. In parallel, extensive tourist development was carried out, and comfortable pedestrian walkways and bicycle trails were paved alongside the road to become an integral part of the lit promenade connecting all the attractions and activities in the tourist complex.

This phase has been completed.

“Walking on Water”– Development of the public domain in Ein Bokek

Going to the beach has never been more enjoyable, accessible and convenient. Ein Bokek public beaches were developed with substantial investment and upgraded with new pampering beach facilities such as shaded rest areas and a wooden walkways into the water to benefit visitors’ satisfaction on site. A modish, striking and lit promenade was built, connecting all beaches of the tourism complex, from Neve Zohar in the south to Ein Bokek in the north. The Palms Park was also upgraded. Much attention was given to gardening and arrangement of parking spaces.

This comprehensive investment will be the basis for creating a perfect tourist experience.

This phase will be completed on Q1/2018.

Beginning of Lots Marketing

The first two hotel lots 100, 101 (adjacent to the south of Isrotel Hotel) are currently in tender.

Once the project outline for the entire project is validated, the procedure of preparing marketing tenders for an additional and large collection of premium lots, will be completed, including lots designated for building hotels in the sea (102, 110,113)
and beach front lots (103-107).

Five additional hotel lots are expected to be tendered during 2018.

  

“Sea – Land”– Development of the public domain between Ein Bokek and Hamei Zohar and construction of lots for hotels and attractions

The extensive development of the public domain in this area includes an upgrade of all engineering infrastructures such as: roads, drainage, electricity, water and sewage. The comprehensive tourist development will focus on qualification of beaches, building a unique desert park and a broad promenade to connect all complex’s beaches and ensure utmost accessibility with a shuttle path, bicycle trail and pedestrian walkway. Along the promenade there will be places to rest and observe the spectacular view. Much attention was dedicated to gardening, shading and arrangement of parking spaces.

In order to better facilitate entrepreneurs, DSPG will qualify and develop the lots and will prepare area infrastructures for them. DSPG will also qualify the lots designated for building hotels in the water, so that the lots be delivered to entrepreneurs – in ready to build status.  

This phase will start on Q1/2018 and will be completed on Q4/2019.

A new course for Ein Bokek - Hamei Zohar Road

The existing road that connects Ein Bokek and Hamei Zohar will be redirected to an elevated route running parallel to route 90. Alongside the new and elevated road, which paving will include a bridge over Wadi Rom, an upper promenade will be built. Alongside the promenade there will be bicycle trials and shaded observation points with benches to facilitate a panoramic view of the entire area.

This phase will start on Q3/2017and will be completed on Q1/2019.

“Southern Glow”– Development of the public domain in Hamei Zohar.

Public beaches in Hamei Zohar were developed with substantial investment and upgraded with modern pampering beach facilities. Shaded areas and wooden walkways leading right into the water make the experience particularly enjoyable. A modish, striking and lit promenade has been built to connect all beaches of the tourist complex, from Neve Zohar in the south, through Hamei Zohar, and to Ein Bokek in the north. The comprehensive public investment in engineering development includes the building of a pumping station for sewage, transportation infrastructures, wide-ranging upgrade of the road, paving of bicycle trails and new pavements, gardening and arrangement of parking spaces to ensure a perfect tourist experience.

This phase will be completed on Q1/2019.
